Swimsuit forms
I had a bilateral mastectomy and just ordered my first suit. Can I wear my silicone ameona forms or do I need to buy official swim forms? My insurance covered my silicone and leisure forms but I don't want to ruin them. I do have a cheap nearly there pair I got from Amazon that I could pop in but I am not sure about drying time. Should I break down and buy swim forms? As far as forms my insurance won't do anymore for this year. What has worked for you?

I just tried on a bunch of suits that looked good without any kind of forms. Those silicone ones don’t work in the water and I wasn’t about to spend lots of money on anything.

okay what I meant to say was that I tried on a bunch of suits until I found a couple that looked good

do you wear them without the forms?
-
Yes. They do have those little form things in them but, of course, I don't have anything to fill them with. So they just sit there. I have gotten used to it and I don't think about it anymore. I just didn't want to have to buy a special suit, etc. Nobody even notices.

I just bought these to go with my new suit https://www.healthproductsforyou.com/p-trulife-activeflow-symmetrical-triangle-swim-breast-form.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI1P-ojayB3AIVjtdkCh0e_wDhEAQYASABEgIKEfD_BwE. They were fairly inexpensive but I haven't had a chance to try them out yet.

Thanks! Great idea! Never even thought about doing that.

awesome! Do you know what size would be a B cup?

I just watched a video about how to sew a pocket onto a bra, put beads into it and seal it up so you don't need a separate breast form. If a person used a mastectomy bra or bathing suit, I wonder if they could just put the beads in and seal it up without the step of sewing a pocket on. It would save needing a separate swimming form, which a lot of women buy. I am still going flat at the moment but the video has given me ideas and is inspiring.

I would love to here if there is an easier way to swim with out breast forms...yes they are excellent for floating...lol...but would like them to be part of the suit...just want to slip on the suit and go! Double mastectomy no reconst...a year ago today!!!

I’ve heard of women using bath puffs for swim forms.
Knitted Knockers offers free swim forms.

I actually use my regular Amoena forms most of the time and they work just fine in my lands end mastectomy tankini tops. The ones I have are silicone without any type of fabric cover on them. I did buy some swim forms (being as I'm in Florida), but find that if I'm going to be swimming and changing in/out of other clothes, it is just easier to use the regular ones.
