HOT FLASHES/SWEATING on Arimidex

Options

I have had terrible hot flashes and random sweating since I started on Arimidex. My oncologist suggested I try venlafaxine, which is an anti-depressent, but can be used for hot flashes. I haven't wanted to try it. Has anyone had any success with anything else?

How long have you been on it? I have been taking Arimidex for about a year and at first, I did have some hot flashes and night sweats but they gradually subsided. Now I get one once in a while but not very often. I am on Zoloft, so maybe that has something to do with it. I'm on Gabapentin and Tramadol for my back but I don't think they have any effect on the Arimidex. Wish I had a better answer for you. I guess if I were you, I would try the anti-depressant

I'm on a low dose of Clonazepam for hot flashes. At first it completely stopped them. Such a relief. They're more frequent now but not as bad as before.

At it's worst, I had a hot flash approximately every 15-30 minutes. Now I have them sporadically, mostly when I'm trying to sleep.
