Hair Loss and Nioxin

I know someone who knows a couple of people who used Nioxin and did not lose their hair. Just wondering if any of you have tried it?

shells, I used nioxin throughout chemo and still continue to use it. I still lost and buzzed my hair but ever since the buzz it has been growing back. I don't personally feel it will prevent hair loss but it keeps the scalp clean so that the hair can grow. My MO said it was ok to take a multivitamin during treatment. I now take a hair skin and nails vitamin along with biotin. You also may want to search for a few other hair threads. I remember a few other products mentioned there too. Not sure if I'm lucky or if the nioxin helped. Either way, mine seems to be filling in nicely. I'm 3 weeks out today from my last treatment. Best of luck to you!

Nioxin products are not capabale of preventing hair loss from treatment, would be awesome if they could though. As DebAL said above though, they are good for keeping the scalp healthy in order to have optimal hair growth after treatment. Minoxidil is the Nioxin product that incourages or stimulates hair growth. The shampoo, conditioners and other products are just to keep the scalp healthy and clear of things that can stagnate growth. Not chemo though.
