Any advise would be appreciated. I woke up in terrible pin last weekend coming from my breast. When I check I found a lump right under my nipple. I went right away to the doctor and he said that pain is good that this is probably nothing. I have no family history of breast cancer and healthy. He said no swollen lymph nodes and he was 90% this was nothing but that we needed to get a mammagram and ultrasound to be sure. I had that the next day and they said they had to biopsy as I could fee it, it had flow and was solid. I do not have my biopsy back but I can tell my doctor is still scratching his head as nothing showed on my mammogram six month ago. Has anyone has this happed to them? The two tests I had showed a microcalcification 1 cm and I am very scared.

I did not know BC could grow that quickly...

monlee so sorry you find yourself here. My experience is not that BC grows so quickly, but that mammos are not infallible. My BS told me a mammo has a one in ten chance of detecting cancer. Isn't that insane? I'd had a mammo in March. In May I had bleeding and a lump just below the nipple. It didn't grow that quickly. Just that it wasn't seen on a mammo even after we knew it was there. It was detected on US and MRI, which do give better rates of detection. Insurance pays for mammos because it is the least expensive choice. Good luck to you.
