DIEP Reconstruction with Lymph node mets

Hi there. I'm scheduled to have DIEP flap July 20th. Although I'm NED right now, my oncologist isn't happy with my choice to have reconstruction and wants me to wait two years! I was diagnosed May 2015, double mastectomy July 2015, reconstruction with implants Dec 2015, recurrence January 2017, mets to distant lymph nodes, chemo, rads, finished February 2018, Radical mastectomy of right side and removal of right implant. I'm being laid off my job soon and it would be hard to have phase one at a new job, plus I can't wear anything scoopneck, V-neck every top or dress must be high to my neck. Have any of you Stage IV thrivers had DIEP and any regrets?

    Hii MLS, i read your post i am in same situation and had diep flap reconstruction on 23rd july. I have opposite lymph node mets. I have searched everywhere on google its not stage 4 its local regional reccurance. did you had surgery how was it
