My mother was diagnosed with Her2+ cancer in her breast about 6 months ago. She had to remove her breast and the doctor told us that the lump in her breast was successfully removed. The doctor prescribe us to go through 6 cycles of chemo and 17 cycles of herceptin treatment. My mother did a ct scan to check if there are any other cancer cells in her body. Although we have not gotten the report back just yet, the doctor told us that if there was cancer cells in the body they would stop the Herceptin treatment because the treatment would be useless at this point. We have gone through 5 cycles of chemotherapy and we are about to start the Herceptin treatment, hence we have concluded that there are no cancer cells in her body. All has been going well and my mother feels fine, in fact she has experienced no pain and is quite strong. However, we found a lump at the back of her neck recently, the lump does not hurt but we are very worried that it could be cancerous. Can lumps form in other parts of the body during chemo or are we just being paranoid? Has anybody experienced this or have any information?
