Hi all! I was just diagnosed with complex hypoplasia after one year fight with hormone negative breast cancer. Since I am only 31 my doctor's want to treat it with Mirena and I am very worried to have something that releases hormones that may cause any left over cancer cells to grow. What should I do? I don't want to get ride of my uterus yet....

if your cancer was ER/PR-, nothing to worry about. Your cancer did not have receptors for the estrogenhormones to attach to in order to “feed" the cancer, so the hormones would have no effect. I'll also point out that the small amount of hormone released is not systemic like BC pills would be.Are you planning to get pregnant in the future?

Thank you Lula 73 for response. They only wanna put Mirena for 3 months. My cancer was 0% ER and 1% PR positive. I am planning to get pregnant as soon as I can after my herceptin treatment.
