Likely a galactocele, Should I push for a biopsy? FNA or Core?

I currently breastfeeding and found a lump about a month ago and went to get an ultrasound to ensure it is not anything concerning. the doctor said that it is "likely" a galactocele and told me to follow up in 6 months to make sure nothing changes.

I don't like the uncertainty and after googling, it seems that a fine needle biopsy is what people with galactocele usually get to confirm the diagnosis. So I called the imaging center back to request a fine needle biopsy but they said they would only do core biopsy, which has more risks of post procedure complication such as milk leaking and infection.

Have anyone had experience with galactocele? should I push for a biopsy even if the doc recommend just waiting? should I switch doctor to get a second opinion and maybe a Fine needle biopsy?

Thanks!

    Freetree,

What your ultrasound report says? I am still Breastfeeding my 3y old daughter. I Went six months ago for a routine ultrasound and the doctor found a small lump. My report says “5x5x3mm hipoechogenic mass is seen at 8'clock. It is circumscribed wider than tall and has no shadowing". The radiologist told me not to worry and he named it as a lipoma. My doctor told me he believed it was an old galactocele.

TOmorrow it Will be my six month ultrasound. I Will keep you posted about my results
