Shortness of breath, cough and chest pain after cardio?

I have had this before, it was thought to be a blood clot, turns out it wasn't. I started taking a daily aspirin with my Tamoxifen last week, Thursday, Friday and Saturday I noticed my cough felt better, chest pain was going away (didn't feel like someone had stuck a knife straight through to my back) and the SOB has been good for awhile now. Yesterday I go for a 18.88km bike ride and all of it came back and lasted, I am still suffering 24 hours later.

Edited to add: I am exhausted! It seems I suffer for a day or two after cardio. I just slept a good night's sleep of 8 hours and could go right back to bed.

I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I looked up exercise induced asthma, everything says that goes away within 20-30 minutes after finishing exercise.

    Hi vampeyes,

it's very difficult to answer this, as I know next to nothing about you and the circumstances. For a start: With these symptoms, you might be well advised to ask your doctor what it might be about. Just to make sure.

What comes to mind: Severe dehydration would cause some of those symptoms. If you are among those that have problems hydrating properly, this would be exacerbated by exercise, especially cardio in maybe warm weather. The first thing to go when you start drinking properly would be the cough.

Another thing: If you are just starting out exercising and are not used to it (which would explain your exhaustion, too), you might be tempted to work out at too high an intensity. Or maybe your body just needs to work too hard to do what you ask of it because it is not yet efficient at it. It might be worth it to invest in a heart rate monitor, couple with smart phone and fitting app and see what's going on with you and adjust intensity as appropriate.

    Hope this helps
