MRI done, 5 day headache wont go away.
I had a MRI done Thursday, it went great. I was expecting it to be extremely uncomfortable but it was totally fine for me at least. They said I should hear from my doctor on Monday/tomorrow. On the bright side no one has called me early to give me any news so I guess that's good.
But right now I'm extremely frustrated by this headache that wont go away. It started the night before the MRI, on the right side of my head I felt like someone had stabbed me with a large knife in it had gone all the way through. I took 2 advil an hour or two later, it did lessen the headache but it was still there.
So I whent to sleep maybe an hour later. The day after I still had this very mild ache that came and whent throughout the day mostly on the right side occasionally on the left. It bounces from my forhead to the top of my head to the whole right side to the back. I still have it and it's starting to scare me. It doesnt wake me up or get worse throughout the day. I'm a naturally anxious person especially when it comes to bodily things.
I have tried on two separate occasions to take Tylenol and Excedrin but also nothing. I also started taking some vit d because i tend to be deficient and some b12. I been drinking more water and avoiding salt and cafine. I have also been avoiding all screens as much as possible. Its not a painful thing it's really mild it's more so annoying.
I'm trying to chalk it up to anxiety of waiting for both the test and results as well as starting school on monday. And my anxiety has cause other pain symptoms before that medication did not help. Also it runs on my dad's side of the family to have migranes.
The thing is I don't feel extremely anxious. And when I do get physical manifestations of anxiety I'm usually at a 10 and right now I would say I'm at a 1 or 2 at most.

I hope you get good news from the mri soon! On the headache...2 things you can try:
1) take 4 Advil/ibuprofen. 800 mg every 6 hrs is the max dose.
OR
2) take 2 Advil Cold & Sinus (with or without 1-2 additional Advils) or a Claritin D/Zyrtec D/Allegra D with up to 4 Advils. (If you have high blood pressure, check with your dr before taking these).
Even though it’s not necessarily a sinus headache, the active ingredient in the meds listed in option 2 can really help. You’ll need to go to the pharmacy counter to request them. The options available in the aisle of the pharmacy are not the same.
You mention avoiding caffeine-are you a coffee or soda drinker? If so, skipping your normal caffeine routine can cause headaches that don’t go away easily for up to 2 weeks.
Hope this helps!

I Picked up my MRI results today, it came back fine thank god.
On the down side my headache morphed from being an occasional pulse on the right side of my head to feeling like pressure on the top of my right eye. It feels similar to if you were to close your eye and push it in twoards the top by the brow bone. And like before medicine doesn't help. It's really annoying and there are times when my hypochondria want's to kick in.
I'm wondering if it's from stress or something from all of this, plus starting summer school and having to take care of my sister for the month.
