I'm trying not to freak out too much, BUT.

First followup 11 days after bmx / flat no recon, and the surgeon says the area of black dead looking skin over the cancer side is no big deal and will regrow new skin.

To me, it looks terrible. The area had very dark bruising right after surgery plus a lot of oozing blue dye, then some skin disappeared and scabbed over an area about the size of a dime. That was a week ago.

Now there's another area running from the edge of the vertical part of the "anchor" incision about an inch wide. It's almost black, irregular, and shiny.

I'm thinking of showing this to my primary doc to see if he thinks my concerns are valid or I should just trust in my surgeon that this won't open up into a huge hole of dead tissue and need skin grafts and other horrible stuff.

Apart from the dead looking area and some overall lumpy swelling over both former breasts, everything else looks good. The rest of my skin has good perfusion.

All the googles can show me are where implants / expanders have failed, nipples dying, and a handful of articles associating methylene blue with tissue death. Nothing about flatties with dead tissue.

Anyone else experience this? How was the outcome?
