What did you wear (or wish you had worn) after B Mx? Any other tips? Please feel free to post links. I am having a hard time finding answers to specific questions in the archives. Thanks!

I am 2.5 weeks post bmx and prepectoral reconstruction. Before surgery, I bought several large men's button down shirts at Goodwill and they have been great. I'm having a lot of nerve pain and my chest feels like a massive sunburn, so I crave very soft fabrics right now. (Pain should resolve in another week.) I also bought some large, very soft, plain men's t-shirts at Target and I've been wearing those with shorts or jeans. You'll want pull up pants/shorts the first week or so because your arms are useless appendages at first. Button up pajamas are great; Target online probably carries some. Because of the nerve pain, I only wear a bra while exercising. Athleta has a zip up bra on sale. I bought two of those and I like them so well I bought 2 more. (I exercise daily and need a lot of sports bras.) For exercise, I wear a loose tank top with very wide arm holes so I can squirm in and out of it or I make one of my kids help me get it off. Bra brands that bmx people seem to like are Coobie and Naked. I bought a wedge pillow on Amazon and I LOVE it - it's impossible to sleep flat - you need to be propped up- (and you can forget sleeping on your side for awhile) and the wedge pillow has helped so much. I bought a "husband pillow" to prop me up while reading on the sofa and it has been wonderful - it's so comfortable that I doze off while reading. And a zip up hoody- I get cold easily and 80% of my marriage has been spent quietly adjusting the thermostat while my husband isn't looking. I bought a soft zip up hoody and I find myself putting that on in the mornings and evenings. Finally, and this is just my 2 cents - stay ahead of the pain by staying on schedule with pain meds. Don't wait until you start hurting because then you'll be playing catch up and it's just miserable. I am still shocked at how painful things were the first week or so and I know it's because I waited too long between doses. Good luck with everything!

Norstrom has camisoles with drain pockets. I got prescription for mastectomy camisoles. Soft pants and button shirts are best. Nothing over the head
