Hi, folks. I'm 58 and just found a lump this week. I'm a retired RN and I knew immediately. I had my mammogram Thursday afternoon and got the results last night.

I guess I'm a little shocky. I haven't cried. I've done what I've always done. I've distanced myself and started researching. I don't feel pessimistic. It's just the next thing I have to deal with. One of my daughters knows. The others are in the middle of a huge move, so I'll wait for a bit before I tell them.

Biopsy next. I have to meet my breast doctor asap.

I'm SO glad I found y'all. I I'll keep everyone posted. Thanks!

    Gina,

So sorry you have to go through this. I am 54 and was in your situation 3 months ago. My teenage children know b/c they still live with me, but I did not tell my parents. They are too old and don't need the stress. I am doing fine. Just hang in there and meanwhile do your homework and research doctors just in case. Good luck on your biopsy and keep us posted. We are here for you.

    Mimi

Thank you, Mimi. I just got the report. IDC, high grade on the L. Atypical focus on the right.

I'll post an update here in a bit. I think I'm a little shocky.
