Worried
Hello all, first post here. About a week ago I found a lump in my right breast. I went in for a check up yesterday and doctor confirmed, yes there is a 3cm lump. He told me not to worry and that someone will call me shortly to to schedule a ultrasound and mammogram. I wasn't too freaked out, but this morning while putting on my deodorant I realized I'm very tender under my right armpit, then it dawned on me it's been very tender all week! and I just didn't think much of it until this morning. I did a little googling, which is now making me freak out lol I did feel around in the arm pit and it feels swollen, I compared to my left armpit and there is definitely a difference.
Anyone else have a similar experience?
I'm 36, mother of two.

skyber, what you are experiencing is probably much more likely to be caused by benign things than anything serious. Dr. Google is a very poor diagnostician. Hang in there until your appointment.

Step 1: Get off google. I've been down that rabbit hole too. Can't lead anywhere good.
If it makes you feel better, 80% of lumps are benign, so the odds are in your favor. And maybe you're only aware of the tenderness now because you're thinking a lot about that area of your body.
AND if it does happen to be cancerous, know that breast cancer is a very well researched cancer. Probably the best researched of all the cancers. The survival statistics for this disease in this day and age are really good. A vast majority of the people with this cancer survive. And even the commonly cited stats out there are already out-dated because the medical industry is getting more advanced every year.
So just remember, the odds are in your favor. Freaking out by reading death stats on google won't do anything but make you feel worse. Find something that occupies your mind and absorb yourself in that until your results come back. Do you have any hobbies? Shows? Things that you do with your kids? Focus on those.
Best of luck. I'm rooting for you.

Yeah, step away from Google. It's about two steps above a witch doctor. Much of the stuff you will find is out-dated, wrong, or doesn't apply to your situation. This is the reason you go to an actual doctor, so you don't have to try to diagnose yourself with an internet search engine.

Thank you! The doctor called yesterday and set up my mammogram for this Tuesday. So That’s not a bad wait. Also, I have a really good friend who is also yelling at me to stay off google, lol she has actually been through the same thing and it was not cancer! Thanks everyone for the reply’s, I will deep clean my house today and get back to shooting archery and stay busy lol

Busy hands will keep your mind busy, too. Google can be a great thing, like when you need to find a recipe for beef Wellington or how to build a utility shed. Hope you get your house clean from top to bottom while you wait for answers.

Google probably brought you to this forum which is a good thing. I wished I had found it before I started down my path because advance knowledge does help. Just always remember 'buyer beware' applies to everything today, then Google til your heart's content-but this forum has the best info condensed within the postings.
Use the search button [upper left side list of buttons on my screen] in this forum. I like it best when I then use the search box that searches by specific poster's name.
3cm is large and will cause under-the-surface displacements that in turn could trigger symptoms further away from the lump-just the simple palpating of the lump by you and your dr can stir up those nerves and invisibly bruise muscles/tissue.

well I had my mammogram and ultra sound today. Came back as a cyst! So relieved!!!! She said if it bothers me they can drain it, but it would most likely come back. I’m going to leave it alone for now and see how it goes. Thank you all so much for the replies!!!
