Post masectomy drains

I had a bilateral masectomy 2.5 weeks ago and have one drain in each breast. As of yesterday I'm still draining 75 cc or more per day and fluid is a light pink. This morning I woke up and one drain is pure red and is draining more than other breast. What could have caused this and should I be concerned

I think, that anyone here might only guess at why your output is greater and darker. Overdoing physical activity might cause this to happen, but the best place to find an answer is to put in a call to your surgeon. Best of luck.

Definitely call your surgeon, even though it's Sunday. He/she is the only one who should address this concern.
