Not sure what my pathology report means

I just got my biopsy report and had to see a surgeon. The surgeon said that he said the report says it is scar tissue. Wouldn't answer any questions but said I need to do another mammogram in 3 months. I just want to know what it means or if I should get a second opinion. Below is what the report said

Sections show breast tissue composed of ducts and lobules that tend to maintain the usual architecture. There is focal fibrosis. There are scattered hemosiderin-laden macrophages. Three is focal calcification of the stroma. The fat also shows calcification with loss of cytoplasmic membrane clarity and nuclear detail. Immunohistochemistry with CAM5.2 and AE1AE3 is negative for infiltrative epithelial cells. CD68 is positive in the histiocytes. Controls stain appropriately.

    Hi LesleySadie,

It is probably worth scheduling a meeting with your doctor and/or nurse to go over this report with you in person or on the phone, and if you still feel unclear, a second opinion. It seems that your surgeon feels it is benign (noncancerous), but they should of course help you understand these details.

    Good luck!
