Had Mammo - bleh
Hi Everyone,
I had the 3D mammo with CAD today, screening mammo, am 48 last mammo 5/17.
I am a bit worried about the end of the visit. She had me do the left side again because there was a "crease" in the bottom of the image (She showed me) and then we did a second one - the 45 degree angle image - and it looked better. But this time I notice a bright white area that looked like (forgive the TMI) a squooshed up flattened nitpple - like a fat line drawn with a sharpie pen and I said, "what is that" she said...probably a vein (i think it would have been near where the nipple was at but not sure).
I looked at other images (no idea what I am looking at other than I have dense breasts) and didn't see it in the other images. So, I asked her (and I know they aren't allowed to say anything) if she saw anything horrible in there, she said no, and that she just looks at the anatomy. And said something like - if I saw something, you'd feel it (I know thats not true, bleh) ...anyhoo...she says she doesn't read them. I asked about the crease and she said its where your skin meets the chest wall and the second image we took had it but wasn't as bad. I am FREAKED out. Not sure what this means. I saw the line but don't recall any other tech mentioning this before.
So, basically two issues - the white line area near where the nipple (I think) would be and the creased skin at the bottom. I have had them "roll out" issues before with imaging but am super worried that something is there or that there is nothing there and they call me back or that there is something there and they don't see it and don't call me back. ACK!
She then says, they will send you a letter in about a week but you can it via your online health records in a day or two and THEN turns around and says, oh and if they need to you would get a call in a day or two. So now I am wigged out. Now not sure if we were chatting and we said that or what...
I am very up to date on mammo's and never miss one, had CBE last week but am still wigged out...then I Googled...uuuggghhhh...
And I am terrified they will find something and post it on Friday when I can't do anything.
I have to go to work shortly and probably should have just called out.
