Confused benign but surgery consult

I got the following results from my core needle biopsy:

- Intraductal papilloma with sclerosis.

DADH5 and Calponin immunostain highlights myoepithelial cells.


My understand is the above is benign. But they recommend surgery consultation. Can anyone see why? FYI I am only 34.

    In general, papillomas are generally removed because in a small percentage of cases there is adjacent DCIS or other more serious conditions. Additionally, they are an annoyance and can grow, bleed, etc.
