hi!

I wrote a few days ago but I'm still very disturbed and restless, even my doctor thinks that I am crazy and exaggerating.

Almost two months ago I noticed my bulging nipple and my left breast became red and swollen. In that same breast 5 years ago I had a biopsy by a nodule that turned out to be an abscess, but at that time I only felt the lump, I had no redness, swollenor pain.

two months ago the sonography only revealed the formation of a possible abscess. the doctor did not want to do the biopsy and prescribed antibiotics. One month later, when i did not see absolute improvement, I went to another doctor who did the biopsy that only revealed inflammation and proliferation of epithelial cells without atypia. the doctor told me that this corresponded to an abscess and an infection.

Two months later my breast is still a little swollen, the redness is almost completely gone, but my aerola is much darker than the right breast and I feel like the famous orange peel is coming out ( nobody in my family see, only me)

The biopsy was done to me where the abscess was, by puncture and it has gotten into my head that since I did not have it on my skin, maybe that's why you do not see the IBC or anything malignant.

I do not know if I'm going crazy or if I should continue to insist even after a negative biopsy.

Janetcs15, you're posting on a forum for people who are "just diagnosed, in treatment, or finished treatment for inflammatory breast cancer." What is it, exactly, that you are looking for here?

I think you might be hysterical about this. Take a deep breath and trust your doctor's advice. Doesn't sound like IBC in my humble opinion! Wishing you well.

Sorry. I did not want to bother anyone. I just wanted to ask if the IBC only shows you with a skin biopsy? because although the biopsy that I did in the bulge that turned out to be an abscess and after treatment with antibiotics I still do not improve at all.

I would ask in another forum...you really do need to be already diagnosed to post here...

Janet, you're not bothering anyone, and this is a forum where anyone can post--it's not like the closed forum of Stage IV. But you're asking for repeated reassurance from people who have been through the treatment grinder of real inflammatory breast cancer. You've consulted multiple doctors and had a negative biopsy. On another thread, I explained that an abscess might need to be surgically drained to heal, or take multiple rounds of antibiotics to clear up.

We're not doctors, and can't tell you with absolute certainty that the persistent bulge isn't cancer. But what you've described doesn't sound anything like inflammatory breast cancer. It sounds like an abscess that might need more treatment.

It seems to me that a diagnosis of inflammatory breast cancer has invaded your thoughts and making you anxious, worried, and frightened. I'm sorry you're going through this. I would encourage you to re-direct those thoughts to something else, and see your doctor again and to explain the abscess isn't resolving as it should. Move away from thinking about cancer all the time. If you can do that, I think your feelings of being disturbed and restless will improve. Gentle hugs---SB
