Hi - many apologies if this has been addressed in a previous topic:

I'm dealing with an issue that I'm sure isn't unique, but is so frustrating. I have mild lymphedema in my hand, thumb and arm. I wrap several nights a week and use a custom glove (Jobst Elvarex) and sleeve when playing tennis, running or doing anything overly active (usually weekends). I tried an off the shelf Juzo glove and it made my hand swell badly - but it was nice and thin and soft.

So several days each week my arm starts aching and I know I should be wearing my sleeve and glove. However, I need to constantly type and write for my work, and I just can't do this with this custom glove! It's thick and uncomfortable and every so often my thumb will go numb or start tingling for no reason.

Does anyone have recommendations for a glove that allows them to type/write or do other things with their hands, but is still effective? I am considering a Barton Carey glove but would love to hear about any others. Also, is anyone aware of an off the shelf glove with a pocket (for added compression) on the top of the hand?

Welcome here. Yes, those thick gloves are pesky and tiring if you write a lot because your stretching against your gloves as you write. I hold my pen between my index and third finger and thumb on other side. It's like pinching the pen. Works good.

Maybe try dictation on your computer to have it type for you. For iPhone or iPad you can use the special computer pen with rubber tip and plunk away. Yes it's slower but gets job done. There like five bucks. Office supply computer store will have lots of ideas to.

It sounds like you should be in garments daily if your swelling. Maybe your not as mild as you think. Trying wearing daily and see if your swell improves. Your gloves don't sound like their fitted right if your going numb. Pull up on glove thumb and see if it's relieves numbness If so you might need to change it. Same with juzo glove if that's a problem to. I think most custom can add a pocket for extra compression.

Edited to add. Sorry was in hurry for you yesterday. Try below.

Try jovipak box dual layer glove.very thin glove and airy. Had area for palm and dorsom pad Order from brightlifedirect.com. Excellent return policy. I think you will like this one the best.

Hi, I switched to a gauntlet and it’s much better than the glove. All my fingers were going numb! I have moderate lymphedema and wear custom Jobst. I wear daily and have a night sleeve too. Tiresome but it helps

Oh I forgot the Farrow glove is skin thin compared to the rest but it’s only class 1. I think the company was sold and it goes by another name. Check brightlifedirect.com for it. Excellent prices and great returns.
