Cellulitis while healing from a mastectomy?

Hi everyone,

My wife had a routine followup with our primary care doctor today and we found out that the redness on her mastectomy incision site is cellulitis. She's been on oral antibiotics the last few days after being discharged from the hospital where she'd been on IV antibiotics for several days due to neutropenic fever. The doctor today refilled the antibiotic prescription and said to be sure to mention this to the oncologist when we see him on Tuesday.

Have any of you developed cellulitis following surgery?

If so, did they delay chemo until after it was under control? I suspect they do, but I'd like to know your experiences.
