Still feel lumps and bumps under incision. Thoughts?

Ladies,

I had a lumpectomy as well as a lymph node biopsy/removal two months ago. Both incisions had some bumps in them, primarily at the edges, which were determined to be incompletely dissolved sutures. My radiation was delayed two weeks so that the incisions could continue to heal. I did start radiation and have had nine treatments.

The breast incision feels healed, no bumps, but the incision for the lymph nodes under the axcilla (armpit) still feels bumpy, even more so after I get my radiation. Uncomfortable vs painful.

Will ask my radiation oncologist to look at it, but I don’t see him again until next Wednesday. Do I need to take action sooner than that

Comments appreciated.

If you are worried and don't want to wait ask to see the nurse maybe? I did radiation with open weeping skin on my incisions (delayed allergic reaction to surgical glue) and the radiation didn't affect it. I also had a suture work it's way out halfway through with little consequence. not sure why you are lumpy, but scar areas will go through a lot of changes over time.
