Had my appointment with my MO. No Chemo. However, since my cancer was hormone receptor positive, and I am close to menopause, he is recommending Zoladex for 2 years with Anastrozole. Any experience with these drugs?

I was 51 at diagnosis 52 now and also very close to menopause. May have even been menopausal but I was on birth control so we can't know for sure. So I am on monthly zoladex and letrozole not exactly the same as they're recommending for you but very close. My side effects have mostly been side effects of menopause hot flashes some joint and bone pain. Feel like I aged very rapidly. But basically I did. I just try to remind myself it's the medications working. I think it is a really good combination from what my Mo says. So much so that if a woman's cancer comes back they will start these drugs up again immediately. Every woman is different, some people take these medications without side effects so definitely worth a try and just keep your doctor informed of side effects and give them a chance to try to help you with those. Good luck. Keep us informed

I was pre menopausal when dx. Chemo put me in a chemo-pause and when I finished radiation I wanted to go straight to AI's so I would need the ovarian suppression. I did the Zoladex shots for four months with the AI's. I then decided to havey ovaries removed so I could stop the shots and continue with AI's. No issues with the Zoladex.

Thanks for the info. We are pretty close in diagnosis as well. I will be starting radiation within the next 10 days.
