Mammogram results help

I received the news that I need to have another biopsy. I had one three years ago and it was benign. It was debris from a burst cyst. This year I made the mistake of going to a new imaging center. The report is really basic compared to my previous reports. I had a mammogram as well as an ultrasound. Can someone help me interpret the results. It says I have a vascular solid nodule. Doesn't this usually mean cancer?

Here is all that is written:

1. There are simple cysts seen in both breasts

2. There is a vascular solid nodule measuring 8x6x8 mm seen in the right breast at 10 o clock located 0 cm from the nipple.

Impression:

1. Simple cysts in both breasts appear benign

2. Solid nodule in the right breast is suspicious. An ultrasound guided biopsy is recommended.

So, my take is that the one termed "vascular solid nodule" is the one they're concerned with (Ive never seen that particular term before.)You don't list a BIRADs score, but generally they don't biopsy anything less than BIRADs4. Anything deemed to be 3% risk of cancer or greater gets biopsied.

BIRADs4 is actually pretty favorable--roughly 80% of those biopsies will be benign. BIRADs5, on the other hand, is MUCH less favorable--only 5% turn out benign.

it was Birads category 4. The report is really basic and I don’t have much confidence as they verbally told me they compared to last years scans, but once I got the report, it says they didn’t compare. I guess I need to go back to my original imaging center for a second opinion. Thank you for responding

I think I would get a second opinion, too. They really need to compare your new films to the old ones.

That description could go either way, benign or malignant. They left out a great number of features that would help decide what it is. Its a fairly non-commital report. Either way if its new or larger since last time it needs to be biopsied no matter what it looks like.
