I had lumpectomy and she removed two nodes, one was positive. So now I wait for Oncotype.

Question, since cancer spreads to sentinel nodes first, does this mean she took two sentinel nodes? She said they injected the dye and two lit up.

Otherwise feeing just sore and ready to deal with whatever comes my way. Just don't understand if she meant she took sentinel plus two more?

I think 2 means 2...the one that lights up first is the sentinel node but I think they often take more than one if the nodes are clustered near each other. And if they both lit up right away then they would definitely take them both.

I also had a positive node. Ended up getting the axillary area radiated.

That’s what I figured. No chemo for you?

That's correct. The surgeon was setting me up for it (to get a port) but the oncologist put it on hold and sent my tissue out for a Mammaprint. It came back saying chemo would only add a couple % benefit so I was advised to go straight to radiation. I had (I think) 2.1 mm of cancer in that one node. They added radiation to that area, as well as the lymph nodes under my collarbone.
