Frequentl dizziness on tamoxifen?

Options

Hello Ladies,

I have a question and I always get good advice here. Just a bit of info first. I had BC was diagnosed March 2017. I had a mastectomy, Chemotherapy, and Radiation. Chemo ended at the end of November and radiation ended at the middle of January 2018. I began Tamoxifen on November 28th and had many side effects, from bone pain, joint aches (both still going on), weird dreams as well as could cry if a gentleman dropped his hat. These were just as few. Most all se's started together, but there were a few stragglers. The one that started in early February was dizziness and blurred vision. It would happen about every two weeks about once. The blurred/double vision stopped, but the dizziness has persisted and increased to about once or twice a week. My ears also tend to pop or ring right before I get the dizziness. I also noticed that my ears are more stuffy feeling lately. I don't have pain in my ears or head. I have not had any nausea either.

By-the-way, I had a brain MRI just two months before the dizziness started due to twitching eyes and head pains from Taxotere during the end of chemotherapy. The MRI was clear, Praise be to God!

So, I would appreciate any experiences, support, or insight

Thanks to all and Happy Mother's Day

Humblepeace- Hope this works this time. Sorry it's a 📚 book!

I too had BC diagnosed in March 2017. I had a lumpectomy in April & another in May. My radiation started in July and ended in September. My MO then started me on the AL Letrozole. It was horrible. I felt like I was being poisoned. My bones & muscles were constantly painful. Then came the waves of hot flashes. They were so bad I was constantly changing clothes to be dry. I had already been through early menopause in my late 30's due to PCOS. But this was much worse. Around the beginning of December, I saw my MO and she put me on Tamoxifen. While I still have side effects including bone pain & joint aches, they come and go. Then in about February, I became dizzy/light headed periodically. I call them my "Drunken Sailor" spells. I use walls, counters and grocery carts as props. If it gets bad, I try to stay near chairs so I don't fall. I had also been having nightly serenades by what sounds like crickets (Tinnitus) and with Tamoxifen, it is getting worse. I too have cracking in my left ear and more recently, it feels like there is cotton in my ear. I saw my GP in April and explained all the issues. I asked him to help rule out other possible causes of vertigo. He ordered a carotid artery U/S and a brain scan as I had a stoke as an infant. They both were were fine with no evidence of another stroke. He gave me an RX for Antivert, but it knocks me out for hours, so I discontinued it. The last SE I have is insomnia and I do notice I have more lightheaded issues when I am tired from lack of sleep.

I'm coming up with a plan of action. My GP mentioned trying a type of Physical Therapy for vertigo. I also might visit the ENT who did my Thyroidectomy for Thyroid Cancer, to have him check for any inner ear infection.

Please keep me posted if you find anything that helps.
