Underarm odor

I just was diagnosed and had a lumpectomy on May 1. About a year ago I started having a terrible odor under my arms. Stepping right out of a bath and the odor was there. Not a sweat causing order, but a body emitting odor. Smelled like a package of taco seasoning.

It’s been 2 weeks since my surgery and the odor is gone. I have read of a dr from Japan who has tied body odor with breast cancer.

Has anybody experienced this symptom

I think surgery causes changes in the armpit that lead to extra odor--even right after washing the area. That happened to me but it eventually got better. When I had dermatological surgery in the same area it happened again but then got better just like before.

Texasborn, I thought I was the only one who noticed this. I had it on my right side only which was the cancer side. It was a very weird smell. I noticed it about 6 to 8 months prior to the diagnosis. I told the breast surgeon about it, and she said it was odd but she was not surprised. Incidentally, I have a heightened sense of smell since sinus surgery years ago. Now and then I keep checking to see if it returns. Makes you wonder.

I noticed an odor prior to diagnosis also. It just came on throughout the day when I wouldn't expect it. Not all the time. Does make u wonder. Also..feeling unusually tired prior to diagnosis. An extreme tiredness but always found an excuse ( My early work hours 0430-1pm shift as a nurse), menopause) A friend of mine saw her pcp last year for tiredness and was just diagnosed 2 weeks ago. She is 39. Another thing that makes you wonder about this disease.

I don’t think I can really state that I felt more tired then normal, because my lifestyle changed. But I think it was strange that I had this odor that I couldn’t figure out. I thought maybe I was dibetatic. So this is why I asked the question about breast cancer. Thanks got the inpu
