Same cyst, 19 years later?

Hello all... I will try to make this a short and concise as possible.

19 years ago, I had an almond sized lump in my left breast, very high up...almost into the armpit. I was only 28 at the time. I went thru mammo, Ultrasound, and finally fine needle aspiration to learn that it was simply a fluid filled cyst. No worries! Phew!

Fast forward to this week. For geographic convenience reasons, I changed to a new ob/gyn. In reviewing my history, she asked about the 1999 breast cyst, and I explained all in detail. Then, on manual exam, she said that it was apparently still there, that she could feel it. NEVER on any manual exam or yearly mammo since 1999 has the cyst come up again, or been detected, so this struck me as odd. The next morning in the shower, I decided to investigate myself...and indeed, I can feel a little lump. (smaller than pea size) I have really dense, lumpy breast tissue, but this definitely is harder than the other lumpiness. And, from what I recall, it's lower than the previous cyst.

I have a mammo tomorrow. I know I should just relax and wait for results.... this new ob/gyn was so nonchalant about what she felt and just chalked it up to the old cyst.... I'm just not so sure. Has anyone else had "just a cyst" that remained or reoccurred so many years later?

:) C~
