How long did you take pain meds after surgery. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks. I got my drains out yesterday and get my first fill of under muscle temps Thursday. Some days are better then others

I take antibodic and celebrex regular twice a day.

Then I have Valium and oxy. I barley take the valium as it makes me very depressed I take the oxy most if I am in pain and I could take Tylenol.

As a I said some days I take the oxy more other days half of one or less. What was it like for you?

Also, after your first fill how was your day following. I have my daughters mother day event the next day I don't want to miss.

Sorry for a long one and lots of questions.

*I had double mastectomy with immediate reconstruction under muscle. Lymph nodes were clear. *

I had the same surgery as you. I continued to take pain meds for 3 weeks. Near the end of the third week I was able to take them just at night. I had my first fill 7 days after surgery (my PS did them once per week), and it definitely put me back as far as pain goes. Since your first fill will be later than mine it might go better for you, but don't be surprised if there's pain.

I took Vicodin for several days at regular intervals around the clock directly after surgery, then just at night for about a week, then just Tylenol. My surgeon did not prescribe a muscle relaxer (usually what Valium, Skelaxin, Soma, Flexiril) so didn't take that. I had 4 drains for about a week, bi-laterally for BMX with expanders that had been filled to 200ccs and bi-lateral SNB. I think a fill at two weeks is too soon - my opinion of course, but some PS like to start fills close to drain removal to discourage fluid from collecting after the drains have come out. I have had an expander three different times (long story) and never started fills until at least a month out from surgery, and the fills were always small - never more than 40ccs, usually 25ccs. I recommend the slow approach to control discomfort, unless you need to fill rapidly to proceed to radiation. I never had to take anything other than a Tylenol after a fill but I attribute that to waiting until some time had passed after surgery and only having small fills.
