Kelligirl, so glad you had fun..we leave on our cruise Saturday. Most of the burned black skin fell off, hoping it keeps getting better.
Appointment with my oncologist tomorrow to see what hormone blocker he will want me to start

Hi everyone, just wanted to check back in and say at 2.5 weeks out I am doing great! My skin is healing and have minimal soreness, only if I lean over acertain way of if my little son accidentally lays right on the area hard. I do feel fatigue, but Ive noticed when I work out it goes away. We moved and of course all that craziness is probably exhausting me anyway, so its hard to tell if its from radiation or not. I got my Tamoxifen prescription today, and am planning on starting it Monday.
Hope everyone is ok!

Got my prescription for Armidex and Fosamax today. I think it was the first time it really sank in about having cancer. Leaving Saturday for vacation but will start taking it when I come back. Fingers crossed for everyone for manageable side effects

How is everyone's side effects? I finished on the 26th. Slightly tender nipple, slightly tan, and slight case of foliculitis in the area of my March open heart surgery that was already traumatized. It is getting better. I use benadryl gel and CBD cream and calendula on my nipple. I feel blessed.

So my 28 rads were done July 16. Today I woke up with a tight right breast, My plastic surgeon warned me that the radiation would keep on working for 3 - 4 months, one reason he doesn't want to do replacement/swap surgery until January.
I'm using Emu oil at night and will begin during the day. I will experiment with Calendula and Udder Balm, which I used during radiation. I've continued lubing the breast, but only at night, not the 3x day I did during radiation.
Is anyone elsenhaving this happen to you?

My RO advised me to keep using the lotions for a few more months, and that the breast could still change in appearance. If anything turns really bad or scares me I’ll call them before my 6 month follow up in January. I’m using udderly smooth cream in the morning and aloe at night. So much better now that it’s over and completely healed from the allergic reaction (although I still have scars) My nipple area still looks like it’s tan, which is just weird. I do sometimes feel random light pains in that left one, but’s nothing bad

How about them shingles? Got the diagnosis at #18/30 of rad treatments about a week ago and I just started to cry. My breast has been barely pink, feeling quite alright until the scourge showed up underneath it. I've been using CBD/THC oil, oatmeal baths, calendula gel, infrared sauna to calm them down...any other suggestions? Too bad tequila is off the table for pain management...

Lefty55 - oh no, I’m so sorry! That sounds awful. I hope your dr can offer you some help

Hi Ladies, finished whole breast rads and started my boosts and have 6/8 left to do! Feel pretty good so far... just some minor nausea after tx, which clears up after eating something and tire more easily. Did wake up feeling really achy today so not sure if that is my arthritis kicking in or from the rads. I see my RO every Monday so will ask her about it. Skin is sunburned looking on the chest/breast, but pretty blackened under the arm. Thankfully no breakdowns! I was so happy to see several of you planning vacations to celebrate finishing up treatment! My girl friend and I are leaving the hubbys home and taking a cruise at the end of September to celebrate me finishing treatment and her being clear of breast cancer for 22 years now! She has been an enormous support for me and such an encouragement to know she beat this so long ago and is still doing great!
blessings to you all!!! Dina

Hope everyone is doing well this weekend!
Just a quick update on me. I finished 28 rads on July 15, but I'm still lubing the breast every night. I have been fortunate enough to have good PT and a sleeve that fits, but stretching has grown harder for me now than in the middle of radiation. Every doctor tells me that radiation "continues" for 4 - 6 months after you stop getting them. My exchange surgery will be in January, 2019; six months post-radiation. I just wanted to offer the thought that it's normal to need to continue our stretches for months to come. I know we all want full movement without lymphedema if we can manage! Wishing all a good weekend.
