Has anyone gained weight after their DIEP flap?

yes I have and now losing. It looks fine when I gained weight it was pretty uniform I have now lost 20 pounds and it looks fine and uniform.

the fat they transfer has a memory. It will grow/shrink as you gain/lose and it will do it like it did in its previous location. So if you typically gained weight primarily in your tummy area first, you’ll now see it in your breasts first. If your tummy was the last place you typically lost from, your breasts will now be the last place you lose from. And so on. Hope that makes sense!

I’ve just been wondering....say, if I eat too much and don’t exercise and suddenly put on 20 pounds, could I get a big tummy again after having this tummy tuck??? Not that I’m planning on this happening. I was just curious if you could actually get a big stomach again, or would it go to other places like your arms, legs, or buttocks? That would be a real bummer!!!

I’ve heard this can happen when you have lipo, and gain weight, your fat cells no longer exist in certain places so the fat settles wherever you still have fat cells.

I don’t need my butt getting any bigger!

I have my second surgery this week on May 10th and will have lipo, so after that, I better be more careful about how much I eat. No more cheesecake after dinner for me!!
