I am with you on the power of prayer. I'm not religious (lapsed Catholic) but not an atheist. I just don't think too much about it and don't go to religious services or take much of any time to pray. BUT I do believe that prayers work somehow and you kind of summed it up with the positive energy. I usually tell someone I'll send my good vibes and white light, in the hope that positive thinking and energy can bring them relief. It can't hurt, that's for sure.

Patsy, Praying allows a connectedness to each other. It may be one sided b/c you have no faith. Your choice, as is faith is for another.

Hope I can remember this story. But I think I can't, so,it will take quite awhile of sifting back through another thread.. If I can locate what I'm trying to find. It will be multiple old post by myself and others. If I can accomplish this the meaning will be known.

Being a religious minority it just translates in my head to kind thoughts and well wishings in general. I find most people are sincere in their intentions on these matters and don't harbor passive aggressive sentiments, but for the ones who do, that is a reflection of their own short comings. They have some emotional growing to do and that is their burden, not yours.

If someone is willing to take a little time out of their day to think of me in a positive light, keep me in their prayers, or otherwise send me positive thoughts/vibes/prayers/light/love, I am grateful. I don't expect everyone to share my beliefs but I am not offended by others keeping me close to heart, I'm honored.

I believe in the human spirit and I believe in you. If someone prays for me, and most often is it my very dear Hindu friend, I say thank you.
