hello.

I was diagnosed last month with breast cancer, stage 2B. I had a right sided mastectomy done almost 2 weeks ago, and I’m feeling really good...other than the periodic burning sensation when taking deep breaths... my surgery went well and I’m healing well. The node biopsy came back negative with negative margins. I am now waiting on results of the onco testing. Once that score comes in, I will meet with an oncologist to decide my next course of treatment. Chemotherapy or no Chemotherapy. My main question is should I find It odd that there’s been no mention of me having an MRI or pet scan? I think I have to my have to much time on my hands but I’ve convinced myself I have lung cancer every time I feel that burning sensation upon a deep breath - which I know can be a normal side effect of recovery. I meet with my surgeon for a follow up tomorrow. Hopefully she can’t she can put my ease!! Thanks for listening

    Hi ccc,

I'm glad that you're healing well and that you have a plan going forward. I remember having weird lung sensations after surgery, and yes it's likely from the surgical process being that you had a breathing tube and your respiration was depressed. I hope your surgeon puts you at ease at the follow up! And it's pretty common for early stage bc patients not to have full body scanning unless having symptoms. Rest up and I hope you have a speedy recovery!
