Lupron: 4 month or 30 mg dose

Options

Hi ladies! I'm premenopausal and have been therefore taking Tamoxifen & Lupron since Mar 2015. I'm still on my first line treatment but have changed dosage over time. I used to receive Lupron every 4 weeks but I asked my oncologist to change the dose to every 12 weeks. She was a little hesitant but she did it because I'm stable. It's been going well. I recently read about a Lupron 4 month/30 mg dose (which is more commonly used for men with prostate cancer). I asked her if it was possible to change my dose to every 16 weeks and she flat out said no. Does anyone here have experience with this dose? I've been doing alot of random online research and can't seem to find anyone! Thanks!

I've been doing the 4 month dose for over a year and no problems. My oncologist said there was no difference between the one month and 4 month. Funny he never offered 3 month dose which would have coincided with my xgeva injections. I haven't had any progression and I'm on my first line treatment of Letrozole and Lupron.

    Good luck!
