Hi , I was diagnosed with DCIS in my right breast after noticing bleeding from nipple. The mammogram showed a small cancer , but after an MRI realized it was all through my breast. I just went to see the surgeon again today and told her I do not want reconstruction. She recommended a Goldilocks mastectomy bilaterally. Has anyone had this ? Are you happy with the results? I wonder if this is better than flat? Any ideas? Thanks so much Lisa

Yes, I had it. Don't waste your time. I had lovely little booblets that were completely absorbed within 6 months and I am now completely flat. All gone. I can't believe drs are still offering this. I'd grill them on their experience with it and what the stats show regarding absorption. I feel like my drs just didn't know much when they recommended it to me and were jumping on a very unproven bandwagon.

I'm actually very happy being flat. I have an assortment of bras, camisoles, forms and prosthetics and I love being able to pick and choose how I want to look. Now after 2 years I choose just plain flat more and more often.

Good luck with your surgery and follow up care. For me, everything was much easier than I imagined.

    Hugs, Lucky

it is a type of mastectomy that they offer for women with large breasts and take the excess skin and tuck it under and make mini boobs. My surgeon gave me this option. However, some that have it say they absorb and disappear. I am trying to find information about pre pectoral reconstruction also.
