Question regarding swollen lymph node under arm

I had a CT scan last week, still NEAD in liver, but it picked up a swollen lymph node under my right arm. The original cancer was in my left breast, and I had reconstructive surgery done five weeks done prior to the scan. Doctor ordered a fine needle biopsy, just wondering if others have had a similar experience or thoughts on the matter? Thanks

Hoping it is just inflammed from the IV or something like that. Keep us posted and let us know. Glad they are checking it to be sure.

Daywalker- I have a red lump under my right arm pit. Having an ultrasound on Tuesday. I think it’s a waste of time as an ultrasound has never picked up any of my cancer. Probably will end up having it removed so they can biopsy it. The right side was clear when I had my mastectomy as I had had a lumpectomy and radiation years prior to it coming back on the left. The PA was quick to say it was cancer but the MO was not so quick to jump to that conclusion. We are leaving for Bermuda on the fourth so I will wait till we get back to do anything other then the ultrasound.

Daywalker- I had a FNB done on opposite side lymph node before my mastectomy because it was enlarged, and thankfully it was nothing. Hoping the same results for you. The biopsy itself was a cakewalk.

Thanks for responding ladies, even though this is not a particularly fun journey, it helps to get encouragement from others who understand this journey. The appointment is in about an hour (I live in South Africa) so will keep you guys updated..

Hi All, I had my biopsy and the results indicated no malignancy, so it was just swollen from the infection. Thanks for the good wishes!
