I recently has a lumpectomy and the biopsy revealed that i had three types of cancers in the lump they took out (IDC, DC in situ and papillary- my needle biopsy just initially revealed IDC). My lymph nodes are clear and my prognosis is Stage 1A.

Has anyone ever had 3 types of cancer in one breast? If yes, what was the treatment path that you followed?

Many (most?) cases of IDC have DCIS in the area. I don't know much about papillary but if you're Stage 1A that's good!! Your treatment will depend on the tumor characteristics. You'll find just about every dx on this site and can see what women with your same tumor type have been through.

I had cancer soup and that didn't impact the treatment i had. Treatment is based on other factors such as hormone positive or her2 positive ect.

Hi dlrsrkr, as you can see from my signature, I had three different types of cancer in one lump. My core needle biopsy showed IDC at the beginning. I read that micropapillary is very difficult to diagnose by core needle biopsy. My MO said it wouldn't have changed my treatment plan in anyway. Wishing you the best for up coming treatments.
