scalp pain only 5 days after first chemo?

I am receiving T/C. Just had my first infusion 5 days ago. My scalp is hurting, like I read will happen when your hair is about to fall out. I was expecting hair loss around day 12 or so...but it's only been 5 days. Nothings falling out yet, but is this normal for the scalp irritation to happen already? My hair follicles hurt when I scratch my head. Maybe it's going to fall out earlier than normal?? I need to know what is going to happen!

Yes, I think that's likely what it is. It won't fall right away.

Cut your hair short but not clipper short, the less tension on the strands the less it will hurt. Like an inch or two long all over.
