Not much pain ...at first

Hi All,

Excuse my lack of understanding all the abbreviations on here. Total self proclaimed newbie.

I felt quite well after my first lumpectomy/lymph node removal. Was walking decent distances by end of first week. Found out my margins weren’t all clear and had my second surgery this past Wednesday (exactly 2 weeks apart). Again, felt good next day. Not much pain but took Tylenol to stay ahead of it. Can’t take norcotics die to making me wired and too loopy. By the second night started feeling a pressure and heavy feeling with some sharp random pains at site. Surgeon used same incision site for 2nd excision. I had a few spots of blood? showing up on my soft ice packs and wondered if anyone has had this happen. I’m completely glued with internal sutures and have taken one shower so far. Maybe I did too much the first day after? I’ve been laying around most of today as gravity doesn’t seem to be my friend. Icing still since surgery on Wednesday. Tight supportive post surgical bra. Also developed a rash around lymph node site from what appears to be what they used to clean the site during second surgery. Thoughts or suggestions appreciated.

Not so patiently waiting on pathologyfor clear margins as well.

I had a rash like that, took a couple of weeks to go away. I didn't do anything to treat it, just waited it out.

I wonder if you have a hematoma or seroma. If you have active bleeding from your incision you might want to call your surgeon's office and speak to whomever is on call to see if that's normal. I had a hematoma after biopsy and it was painful pressure.

I had lumpectomy Tuesday and have since noticed a lump (hematoma/seroma--don't know which) & emailed my doctor, who said there's nothing to worry about at this point, but use a towel underneath in bed in case there's leaking and if there is, re-apply bandage and call her. I have had some minimal spotting since that time, but I don't think it's anything to worry about. If it increases, I will apply a bandage and call her. I see her Thursday for post-op.
