Abdominal changes from radiation?

Hello fellow breast cancer warriors! I was dx'd with stage 2a tnbc. I did 6 rounds of ACT, had a right lumpectomy and reconstruction. I'm now finishing rads on Monday which I had 6 weeks of. About a week ago I started feeling upper stomach fullness with some intermittent cramping pains throughout my abdomen. I can eat normally, have no tenderness when stomach is pressed and no nausea or vomiting...just a full, tight feeling in upper abdomen. I am worried about liver mets but onc is not too concerned...mentioned gas as a possibility. I'm wondering if anyone thinks it can be a rare radiation side effect. Has anyone else experienced this?

Chaylu - I had 33 radiation treatments almost 7 years ago. I was fortunate because the only side effect I had was fatigue about halfway through the treatments and a little burning.

I have read you can experience some stomach discomfort after treatments. Although your doctor isn’t concerned if it persists much longer I would see another doctor. However, it is a good thing he doesn’t seem concerned.

I also know there can be lung scarring that doesn’t show up for years after treatment. There are no guarantees of course but I feel pretty optimistic about my chances

Thanks Diane for responding! I'm going to my regular doc this week. I pray it's not mets, but of course it's always a fear. As you stated, at least my onc doesn't think it is. I wish you the best!
