Temporary expander breast feels very heavy and hard
I am having much pain with my tempoary expander, I feel like it' very heavy and hard. Not sure if this has anything to do with putting in the saline solution in so fast as in time frame.

I called mine Tupperware. Hard and heavy stretching out that skin. You call always ask them so slow down during your fills. Take a pain pill before you go. My doc prescribed flexeril saying as they got fuller I would probably have referred pain between my shoulder blades. Glad she warned me and had medicine ready.
Good luck as your fills continue. Getting them out is such a relief

hello, I am not laughing but oh yeah that is how I feel. No mine feels like they put a rock in mine. I had my Mastectomy done on the 27th of Feb and the plastic surgeon has already put in over 600 cc of Saline Solution, it is like NO more. I cry myself to sleep all the time. And as for pain pills what are those she took me off of them as fast as she could and told me to take advil. On March 24th I ended up back into the Hospital because I was running a fever and expander was hot, pumped me full of antibodtics, and said that I have Seroma. so now I am carrying my new best friend around hanging from my fake boob. Some people think the thing looks like a pee bag, nope too high I tell them went back to plastic surgeon on Tuesday of this week and ended up getting bruised when she put the final dose of Solution in.

sorry to say it but the expander never gets comfortable. Ask for a muscle relaxer instead of pain medications for this early time-the muscle stretch is probably what hurts. Had mine in for 15 months. It did not hurt the whole time but it was always THERE. So much more comfortable when it came out.

I wish my doctor would give me anything to help with the pain muscle relaxers, I was told to take over the counter medicine. I am talking about pain but also burning along with shoulder, down my arm to elbow pain I can't lift my arm to get items off top shelves in frig. Not only those problems my expander feels like it weighs about 4 pounds and so tight it can't be lifted up to wash. I just feel like my plastic surgeon won't answer me and I don't know where else to go we live in a very small town in southern Illinois.

It is meant for women who choose not to have reconstruction. But sometimes posters who are having reconstruction accidentally post here and all members of the breastcancer.org community are free to respond.
Wanda, you might get more responses if you post your comment on the Breast Reconstruction forum.
