I am a 60 year old male.  In November 2016 I was diagnosed with Stage II Breast cancer.   Went through the chemo, mastectomy, radiation, and Herceptin treatments.   I gained about 40-50 pounds during the treatments -- probably due to the steroids and not eating healthy since everything tasted bad -- it was a matter of survival.  I finished my last Herceptin treatment in November 2017.  They put me on Tamoxifen.  I am eating healthier, working out 6-7 days per week, feeling better, but I am gaining weight.   The other thing that I monitor is my glucose levels because it went up during the chemo.  But after about a month or so on the Tamoxifen, it has gone up.   I was running around a 100-110 and it was going down.   But now it is running around 150-160.  Has anyone else experienced this?  Can anything be done?

Hi Doglover, I’m not male, but suffered the same weight issues as you have during treatment and tamoxifen. Quick question for you...is your workout regime mainly cardio? If so, are you maxing out your cardio (80%) levels most days

    thanks for the response.

my workout consists of water aerobics / jogging for about 45-60 minutes 6 days per week.  and then I strength train 3 days / week for about an hour -- one of those sessions is with a personal trainer
