Worried!!

I had my first mammogram yesterday and before I left they told me that I would hear back in a week with the results. She said they will send a letter either way (good or bad) and sometimes they will request an ultrasound.

Well, today I got a call saying that the radiologist read the films and they will need further testing on the left breast. She asked that I come in tomorrow. I was in such shock I just said ok and got the info and hung up. It's pretty alarming that they would call 24 hours after my appointment & want to see me so soon.

Has this happened to anyone?

That's pretty good, it can take weeks to get appointments for a call back in some places.

Call backs are extremely common after baseline screening mammos.

Too early to start worrying.
