Low Platelets

I had my annual appointment with my oncologist last week. Blood work was good with one exception. My platelets from previous tests were 344. This test was 50. He had the lab rerun the test then had new blood drawn. Neither test showed any change

He sent my blood to pathology fora smear. I will hear those results next week

I just completed my second year of Tamoxifen. Could it be causing the low platelets?

He didn't think so and talked about doing a bone marrow biopsy Much rather go off Tamoxifen than have the biopsy

Any thoughts or have others had this experience?
