My name of MJ DeCoteau and I am the executive director of Rethink Breast Cancer (www.rethinkbreastcancer.com) – a Canadian patient group dedicated to building community for young women dealing with breast cancer and providing support and resources to help them live the best quality of life.
We are looking for woman with HER2-positive early breast cancer and women who have been treated with Herceptin-Perjeta (pertuzumab-trastuzumab) combination therapy to talk about their treatment experience.
The Canadian government will soon be reviewing the use of Herceptin-Perjeta to treat HER2-positive early breast cancer that is node-positive or hormone receptor-negative, and Rethink Breast Cancer will be making a submission to ensure that patient voices are represented and considered during the review process.
If you are interested in talking about your experiences, we would like to ask you to complete this survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/R76HZXY
If you would like to speak with us directly about your cancer or treatment experience, you can contact Shawna Rich-Ginsberg at shawna@rethinkbreastcancer.com.
We would also like to invite your family or friends to talk about their experience caring for a patient being treated with Herceptin-Perjeta: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RD79RF3

Hey HER2 sisters,
Perjeta is not available in Canada unless you are metastatic. Please complete the survey to help this group advocate for government approval and funding of Perjeta for early stage breast cancer.
The survey takes 5 minutes to complete.
Thank you!!!
Stephanie

I was hoping on disscuing this with my Onc on my next appointment....

Ada,
It is only available if you pay for it yourself, or have private health insurance that covers it. I had to go to a private clinic to have Perjeta. It has not yet been approved by Health Canada for use in the adjuvant setting.

thank you Steph!!
Definitely makes sense as to why I haven’t heard my onc say anything about it.
Did you start with it from first treatment or was it already in your treatment plan? Wanted to know if t made any difference in terms of side effects and what not. Definitely will ask about it and hoping that we will soon have this availability seeing it as it has long terminal benefits.
