Anyone taking Tamoxifen with a mood disorder?

Hi,

I've just been diagnosed with DCIS after an excisional biopsy for what they thought was ADH.

My surgeon recommends radiation and tamoxifen but I have concerns about taking the medication.

I've read that depression and mood swings are a side effects, I have a history of mood swings with Bipolar Disorder and those can also be life threatening. I can't take any of the SSRI's or SNRI's because they cause be to cycle into mania. Also there is a family history of uterine cancer.

I'm waiting for the results of the BRCA test, if that comes back positive then BMX will definitely be the way to go.

My partner thinks I'm overreacting when I talk about maybe having the MX. Says it's like cutting of your leg to cure an infected toenail. I think that's insensitive.

Anyone else with a prior history of mental illness taking tamoxifen?
