Only 23, second time around for testing

The ultrasound results couldn’t rule out anything for sure so I was sent to have a needle biopsy of my 2 cm lump. Results came back to just be fatty. A few weeks ago I found a new lump in the same breast. This one I came across due to some pain, never experienced that with then last at one I have my first appointment on wed to get it looked at. I wasn’t color interned two king myself it will be just fat again but I then around me have made me much more ire concerned about it Has anyone else been in similar situations and what was your outc

Hi Dmitchell,
We're really sorry to read that you've been having breast concerns recently especially at such a young age!
Getting diagnosed with breast cancer in your early 20's is very rare indeed so try not to worry too much but do go and talk to your doctor and ask him/her questions.
Here is a link to some of our main site content on BC that you may find helpful:

Hey, I just wanted to drop in for some support. In november I thought I felt a lump but the doctor who examined me said it was nothing just normal breast gland/lobule. And then I late January I was reading about dimples being a weird sign of BC and sure enough I have one on the other breast like what are the odds. I'm still trying to rule out all sorts of things.
I will say that in all the research I've done pain is usually more common in benign findings like cyst or a fibroadenoma. Also like the moderator said for women in their 20s the chances of having breast cancer is one in around 2000 so the odds are in your favor. The most common benign finding in young women is a fibroadenoma.
Also usually benign tumors are smooth and "movable". I also once saw a post by the radiologist on here who mentioned that sometimes people feel lumps that are just regular breast tissue so maybe what you're feeling might be normal.
If you don't mind my asking did you find this lump slightly before or during your period maybe it is just a cyst.

due to the time of birth control I am on I do not get periods. I go in today to see the obgyn so will see what she says and if she orders more testing

good luck with your testing. I hope all goes well and you can get some answers soon.

I know how you feel, - I had a fibroadenoma removed when I was 22. Those darn things are not at all unusual in your 20s and that could very well be what you have!

I'm generally a bit of an outside of the box person. So when I first found the abnormality in my breast the first thing that popped into my mind was putting a flashlight against my breast to see if I saw any weird shadows. Like when you put it against your hand and you can see your veins. I don't know why that was my first thought.
Funny enough there is actually a screening method for breast cancer called transillumination.
And what happens is you go in the dark room and they shine very bright light from different directions on your breast to illuminate the area. Basically your boob turns into a glow stick LOL. And the idea is that if there is a mass it would look like a dark/black spot. The darker the more suspicious if it looks slightly darker kind of Cloudy that could be a cyst, a cyst could also look brighter than the surrounding area. But like all test the dark spot doesn't necessarily always mean Cancer it can also be a benign tumor like a fibroadenoma or fat necrosis.
I don't really know why I'm sharing this, because it may freak you out if you do it and you find a dark spot, but you may also see a bright spot and be able to say it's a cyst and calm down. I just figured I would share in case anyone wanted to know, try, or look into it.
