Scheduled for implant exchange surgery Weds. BUT...

I've been extremely stressed out this weekend--not related to my upcoming surgery.
Because of medical bills, I took on a roommate/tenant, and this person has caused me a lot of stress the past weekend--mostly by being inconsiderate about my need to a lot of sleep before surgery..AND I found out they've been SMOKING..which I said SPECIFICALLY that this is a DEALBREAKER.
I cannot be around second hand or even third hand smoke--not just because I'm a cancer survivor, but because I'm EXTREMELY allergic.
They've been smoking outside but still..I do not want this ON MY PROPERTY.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to give them 30 days notice soon (they're on a month to month lease), even though they said they would stop smoking.
I've been extremely stressed out about all this.
Plus, I had a cold 2 weeks ago and I'm still congested, coughing, etc. I'm wondering if maybe my roommate has been sneaking smokes in their room or something? And maybe my allergies are kicking up..
I'm so distraught and wondering if I should postpone the surgery until this person is out and I have a chance to de-stress.
What do you all think?
-
If you have ANY cold/congestion remaining, then SURELY postpone! As for the room mate, - if you can get rid of them soon, at least you will have the peace of mind that they wont be there much more!
Yes, you need to be calm and as stress free at home as possible!
-
If you are not running a fever and following all recs for pre surgery med restrictions...I say - do the exchange. If you are progressing and not feeling better then postpone. Who is going to be there to help after the surgery?
-
Well... now it got rescheduled, anyway, because we're getting a Nor'easter here in Philly, and there might be 6-10 inches of snow
-
Probably for the best that it is postponed. Any progress with the room mate situation?
I had a procedure done when i had a very slight sore throat, - boy was I sorry! My throat was SOOOO sore for many days after that! I needed to see an ENT for treatment. Best to be 100% before going for any surgery!!
Let's hope this storm isn't as bad as they are predicting!

Yes, my roommate starting doing edibles, and that has helped considerably.
They quit smoking and apologized for even starting it.
We're getting along much better now lol
I had my surgery yesterday and it went great. I feel pretty good..just taking prescription strength ibuprofen.
I can already tell the difference now that the stupid TE is out. It feels so much better!!!!
