I am not sure what is going on and I don't even know where to look for info since I am not immediate post-op.

I am having these horrible sharp-ish dull-ish, intermittent pains about 1-3 times a day in my right armpit and upper breast area. I try to grab my upper breast and not call attention to what's happening. When they happen in my sleep, they are waking me up.

I've also been exhausted. Like, I can't even explain it. I sleep fine at night, as far as I know. Even after these pains, I am able to go back to sleep. But I am up for an hour and ready to go back to sleep. I am not sure if it is related but the tiredness has been getting increasingly worse and then these pains started.

I think I'd call the breast surgeon tomorrow. This isn't normal.

Don't know how old you are, but menopause can cause these exact symptoms... I'd call your primary care doc or OB/GYN and get evaluated.

Hi Andrea. I had surgery for DCIS 10 years ago, mammos have always been fine.  Lately I've been getting a discomfort/pain in my armpit and at the sight where the lymphnode was checked, which has always been painful to the touch.  It was quite noticeable lying on my side in bed last night. Called my oncologist who is totally booked until my scheduled appointment in 3 weeks. Her nurse was in touch with her and she suggests I see my surgeon or primary. I will not go back to that surgeon so have an appointment with primary in a couple days for evaluation. It concerns me. I too have been very tired but I also have fibromyalgia, arthritis and a host of other ailments. I didn't know if it is normal. I'm in my mid 60's.

dp - ANdrea has not posted since 2018, so you're unlikely to get a response.

Maybe you could explore this with a trained/certified lymphadema specialist.

    Hi there!

    I'm here 😊

It ended up going away on its own. I have to assume it was meno related. I'm pretty much pain free now, as far as DIEP pains go but, it's taken a decade for all the zaps to go away.

Guys I am sitting here tonight in pain after 6 years after surgery several emergency room visits later with a all clear . I was beging to think I was loosing my mind . Pain under arm pit to back across chest . I had this a year or so after surgery but haven’t had for awhile . I was thinking I was in the clear . I am in tears tonight , I know I am blessed to have gotten out of this cancer free , been living the dream thinking it was all behind , but now that this has flared up again I realize the battle is never over . I went to lypmphadic massage nurse for awhile but no longer have insurance can you go to lympadic massage therapist without referrals ?
