Unfortunately I'm back
I went to my mammo on March 15th after having not gone since 2015. I know, I'm bad. But I didn't want to have the constant nagging worry in the back of my mind so I took a break. It was too much for me to handle never having clear mammos. So, this time I had a 3D mammo with instant results. Doctor thought a 3 cm mass 3 inches outward from my left nipple was a lymph node. It isn't. My oncologist is aggressive this time advises bilateral mx. I have an MRI scheduled for the 26th. She fears it's ILC. Odd, since it doesn't usually present in mammo. There were 3 areas of concern. She said she's pretty sure of what it is but wants the MRI to make sure. Ugh. She did say that she thinks it's caught early but definitely advises mx so I won't have this worry anymore. Well, from what I've read, (and I've researched a lot) a mx doesn't guarantee no reccurence. Either way, i want out and over with.

Sorry you have this to deal with. Do they plan to biopsy it?
When was your first bout with breast cancer
-
My first bout was in 2006. Biopsy will follow sometime after MRI.

AlwaysSunny79...so sorry you are going through this. May I please ask you to make your stats public so we can better answer your questions. Good luck and keep us posted. We are all here for you.
-
I would ask for a copy of the radiology report. Hoping they schedule the biopsy soon, so you know what you’re dealing with
-
I'm so sorry Sunny. Let us know how we can help.

From her prior posts, Always had DCIS in the past & is BRCA1 positive
-
Idk how to make the stats public but Melissa is correct. I had a 3 bx on right breast and a lumpectomy. No chemo or rads as the lumpectomy was all that was needed. I have strong family history of breast and reproductive organ cancers. And I'm BRCA1+ I feel like everything is moving in slow motion and just want it out and over with now. I have too much to consider and I don't want to research any more to not get ahead of myself. Either way, I have a positive outlook and I'm not gonna let this drag me down. I'm ready for a fit and I'm gonna win.

BRCA positive should be indication for a bilateral mastectomy, so hopefully they get the wheels in motion for that soon. This waiting part is SO hard! Thinking of you!

Hi Sunny, I am sorry to see you going through this again as well. I just wanted to mention 2 things.....personally I would run from a doctor telling me I had cancer with no biopsy. NO ONE knows until the biopsy comes in. 2nd...I had a single mx last August, no recon. I was just dx after a biopsy today. It's back...too early to know if its the same cancer or a new primary. The only reason I fond the lump is cause I am still flat...who knows how long it would be there till it got big enough to be felt.
